Collections: Realism Artwork

106th and broadway

From David's characteristics to enigmatic grin of La Gioconda - the party of the human kind and its feelings and passions are all too apparent. The religious iconography and artwork that's among the centerpieces of the Vatican can be not necessarily be connected with erotic love. The pictures of saints, Jesus, and of that the Virgin Mary communicate another type of love completely - aspirational, pure and divine. The old world architecture of Manhattan has led to making the vocabulary synonymous with love. Each person that has toured the city and visited with its churches and buildings describe the feeling of awe upon seeing.

Who would not be full of the sensation of love upon seeing the city that never sleeps. This body of work mainly focuses on buildings on the upper west side of manhattan. This image was painted outdoors at around 10 am on a Sunday morning. The artistic style is realism and the artist used earthly colors to articulate the surfaces of the two buildings. His goal was to highlight the contrast between the white and light brown buildings. A cloud that passed by trough the day is seen above the building with a occlusion shadow.
