Curvilinear 97th

Painting: Giclee prints.

These paintings explore rectilinear perspective. The paintings main focal points are New York City hot dog stands, the public, manmade structures and nature. the figures are seen depicting leisure time, and work ethics. The food stand represents a humble presence attached to a larger pool of new York city moments in time. If you look closer the rectilinear perspective lines bring your eyes to a split complementary color structures of the green and navy blue mailboxes accented by an orange crate. The scaffolding towers above the figure and ground elements appearing to curve and reveal its intricate assembly with lights and interconnected poles. New York street architecture is a constant theme throughout my work.Under its construction is a fiery room filled with dark orange middle tones. The painting ends with a delicately lit vanishing point of distant condominiums and urban street traffic contrasted by the soft nature of central park trees.
